Concept: Naked woman has a dress made out of cake. So the more you eat...
I'm rather proud of the result. I honestly didn't think I could pull this off! I baked a chocolate cake, transfered it to a framed painting of a naked lady, used a dress stencil (based on the naked lady you see me painting right now) and a pizza cutter (MUCH BETTER THAN KNIVES!) to cut out the dress, Adriel frosted, and I decorated with white flowers. Flower smade out of melting chocolate, bought candy roses, and piped icing. Never did any of this kind of cake decorating before...

I used the rest of the cake to make cake pops. Will upload with more photos later!

I haven't posted for about a week, and will probably not post again till the first. I am finishing up work on Sandy Fishnets, and can't wait to leak more juicy little tidbits as they go along.

Here are a few things that I have already finished for the project (EONS AGO):

Can't wait to show you guys the real thing when it comes up!

Off the Leash - Puppet Test

Boris- Puppeting: Helen Wallace; Voice Acting: Adriel Garcia
Chao Main- Puppeting: Quinn Talbot; Voice Acting: Juno Mendiola
Script - Walter Wertz

Testing out the puppets and how they handle with people. Not happy with the promo itself...but it was a very educational experience. I know more of what to expect now :)

Light Painting - Act II - Stencils

Made the bulk of the stencils today! Just 2 left to draw (big fish and little fish no. 2), and 6 to cut out!

Putting the creative director hard at work!

Coot squid is coot! Tentacles will be light painted in :)

Zoetrope Adventures pt. 1

So I stayed up till 3 in the morning on THURSDAY finishing these up, and didn't get a chance to post till!? *grumps*

I was commissioned by the PHILLY MURAL ARTS PROGRAM to do a zoetrope for them! Pretty neat huh? So...I got a little carried away and designed some pretty complicated zoetropes within zoetropes and other such nonsense. They wanted to go with something simpler/easier (don't blame them!) for the first one. I PRAY that its a success, because not only will this promotional zoetrope bring more tours to look at philadelphia's beautful walls, but also because they will comission more from me, and maybe we can build up to these.

I had a myriad of ideas, but I decided to make rendered drawings of these two:

No...I am NOT obsessed with owls....

My student's owl is adorable, but I totally forgot to take a photo of it! Stupid me. I'll have to post it! My other student is practically done her second ever still life! SHIT TONS better than her first, and she's doing such a great job with it! I'm really really proud of her. Can't wait to start teaching her about light and shadow next!

Light Painting - Act II - Tests and Stencils

This is my first light painting excursion. Lots of trial and error here, and stabilization issues, but I thought I'd share aniway:

I ran the frames through photoshop and changed levels, saturation, and color. I really love this look. I hope I can achieve something like this again. Unfortunately it is now warmer outside, and my chances of light painting on a frozen lake are over. I feel stupid for ruining this opportunity. Oh well. Hopefully my next attempt at light painting will provide something more....fruitful?

I also started playing around with light stenciling today. Am in desperate need of a good camera. But I learned a shit ton! Pictures are silly and bad, but...they represent a step in the right direction for me :)
